We are deeply saddened by the death of VAPHA Member Dr. Carl W. Armstrong, Director of the Office of Epidemiology, Virginia Department of Health after a long battle with cancer, on March 5, 2009
Dr. Armstrong was a model public health professional and an inspiration to many of us in the public health field - selfless, modest, thoughtful, and generous with his talents. He dedicated over thirty years of his life to improving public health in Virginia. We will miss him.
