The VAPHA Annual Meeting of 2008 took place on March 21st, 2008 at George Mason University. Hosted by the University's Department of Global and Community Health, it featured Dr. Cheryl Easley, President-Elect of the American Public Health Association and Dean, College of Health & Social Welfare, University of Alaska, Anchorage. In honor of 100 Years of the Virginia Department of Health, Mr. James Edmonson, member of the Board of Health presented Mr. Robert Hicks and Dr. Joanne Wakeham of the Virginia Department of Health with a plaque. Participants were also treated to a cake in recognition of VDH's centennial.
