This symposium will offer multiple opportunities for participants to network and enhance collaborative efforts. This event will launch the Prematurity Prevention Network, a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting prematurity prevention.
Participants will be able to:
- Describe the prevalence of preterm birth, its impact on public health and theories of etiology of preterm birth.
- Examine national, state, hospital and community strategies for prematurity prevention.
- Describe a number of existing programs that address preterm birth and analyze the strengths and challenges each presents.
- Plan how to implement a prematurity prevention program appropriate to community needs.
