VAPHA 2011 Spring Meeting: Improving Virginia's Health through Policy Planning and Practice

Join the Virginia Public Health Association and our partners including the Virginia Commonwealth Public Health Training Center, the Virginia Department of Health, CommonHealth Action and the Maryland Association of County Health Officers for the VAPHA Spring Meeting, Improving Virginia's Health through Policy, Planning and Practice. The program will be held April 29th at The Place at Innsbrook in Richmond's West End.

The program will feature a judged Student Poster Session, an update on Virginia's Health Reform Initiative from the Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Resources, a look at the Affordable Care Act from the APHA's Associate Executive Director, and a national panel on the 2011 County Health Rankings and how they can become a more effective tool at the local level. Advance registration is required. Online registration is now open! If you prefer, you may download a copy of the registration form and return it with your payment.

Members pay only $30 for this event. The nonmember fee is $45. MPH Students can attend for free. Join now to take advantage of special discounts on membership and attend the meeting at the member rate.

Individuals will also have the opportunity to register and attend the County Health Rankings panel as a live or archived webinar presentation.

  • MPH Students are encouraged to submit their research or project to the Poster Session. Abstract of 250 words or less must be submitted by e-mail to Kay Cherry, Assitant Professor, EVMS/ODU MPH Program, by 5 p.m on Monday, April 18th. Maximum completed poster size is 3 feet by 4 feet. Prizes will be awarded for Student 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Questions about the Poster Session should be directed to Kay Cherry.
