Webinar: Health Impact Assessment - Health Equity
In follow up to the extremely successful 2009 Virginia Health Equity
Conference, The University of Virginia Master of Public Health Program and the Virginia Department of Health, in conjunction with the Virginia Public Health Association cordially invite you to attend a webinar entitled: Health Impact Assessment - Health Equity, on Friday, April 23 from 12:00pm-1:00pm.
The webinar is free, but you must register attend.
The presenters will include:
* Dr. Nisha Botchwey, specializes in neighborhood development and
planning with emphasis on public health promotion. In the fall of 2003 she joined University of Virginia's faculty of the Department of Urban and Environmental Planning;
* Lili Farhang work is largely focused on evaluating and addressing
the influence of urban development plans and projects on health and equity. Lili is credited with the formation of and managed the Healthy Development Measurement Tool, which pioneers the use of evidence-based practice in regard to health in land use planning;
* Michael O. Royster, is the Director of the Virginia Department of
Health, office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy (OMHPHP). The mission of OMHPHP is to promote health equity by accessing health inequities, identifying their causes, and to address them by promoting social justice, and further educating the public.
