Virginia Latino Pilot Project
VAPHA has formed a partnership with the Greater Richmond Chapter of the American Red Cross to promote the Virginia Latino Pilot Project statewide. This project, initiated by VAPHA member Peter von der Lippe, recruits Virginia college students to go door-to-door to raise awareness and increase understanding of disaster prevention and preparedness in low-income and immigrant communities. The Red Cross and its partners are planning the Virginia Latino Pilot Project forum on December 5th, 2008.
Unnatural Causes
VAPHA has joined Unnatural Causes as a partner. Other partners in Virginia include the Virginia Department of Health's Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy, Division of Health Equity.
